From: Jan 01, 2010 To: Dec 31, 2010 USA Animals are a test of mankind's capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because they have rights or power or some claim to equality, but in a sense because they don't, because they all stand unequal and powerless before us. When we wince at the suffering of animals, that feeling speaks well of us, and those who dismiss love for our fellow creatures as mere sentimentality overlook an important part of our humanity. |
From: Mar 01, 2010 To: Dec 01, 2010 7800 S. US Hwy 17-92 Suite 174, Fern Park The Animal Pantry of Central Florida has really taken a hit the past few months. More and more families needing help and less food coming in each week. We are all cutting back, but that also means we are having to leave pets out there hungry. This is troubling for all of us because we are all animal lovers. Zach's goal is not just to keep pets with their families, but to make sure they are getting what they need to be healthy also. Please take a moment to drop a bag of food off at one of the many locations around Central Florida. For a complete list visit www.animalpantry.org click on "Current Food Drive" button. Then just find a location close to you. We currently have NO dry or wet cat food. We also need litter. We also need SMALL bags of dog food. Also some puppy food would be nice. We also need treats for dogs and kitties. Thank you!! |

From: Sep 20, 2010 To: Sep 20, 2010 USA Help stop Puppy Mills which are breeding facilities that produce puppies in large numbers. Documented problems of puppy mills include; unsanitary facilities, overbreeding, inbreeding, disease, minimal veterinary care, poor quality of food and shelter, lack of human socialization, overcrowded cages and the killing of unwanted animals. The HSUS estimates that there are over 150,000 dogs kept as "breeders" in US puppy mills. Each one is an individual whose barren life is an avoidable and unjustifiable tragedy. These dogs produce 2-4 million puppies every year...while more than that dies in shelters every year !! These puppies will be sold through seemingly innocent neighborhood pet stores, fancy websites, and local newspapers. Dogs kept for breeding in puppy mills suffer for years and are bred as often as possible before they are killed, sold through auctions like used cars or abandoned. PUPPY MILLS CONTRIBUTE TO MILLIONS OF UNWANTED DOGS WHO ARE EUTHANIZED EACH YEAR IN THE UNITED STATES. PLEASE DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS PETS DIE. |
