Bark for a Park is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to open dog parks in the greater Birmingham area and to promote public health and safety through education on responsible pet ownership, bite prevention and more.

Founded in 1998 by Chris Amick and backed with over 30 years of experience. Chris has been active in dog sports since 1978 and has trained and titled dogs in both AKC obedience and Schutzhund sportwork. RESULTS TRAINING FOR THE REAL WORLD!

The Pet Hydeout

We are a new non-breed specific rescue in the Shelby County area. We have been in rescue and adoption for several years, but have just become our own organization. Previously we have rescued dogs of our own, fostered for other rescue groups and worked at events and with fund raising for other rescues.
