The APS of Durham is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and providing shelter for all animals. Independent Animal Rescue Our mission is to rescue and provide safe and responsible care for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals. The Coalition to Unchain Dogs The Coalition to Unchain Dogs is a non-profit, volunteer effort dedicated to improving the welfare of dogs living outdoors on chains in and around Durham, North Carolina. In the last year, we freed over 75 dogs from their chains, but many more are still waiting.
