In the past I had a playful Bombay mix cat and an adorably silly American Staffordshire.
I love all animals, but big dogs are my favorite. I've lived in Alexandria my entire life, I can't imagine living anywhere else. I love working with pets because they're the cutest co-workers! I treat clients' pets like they're my own and I spoil them with belly & neck rubs after walks so our goodbye's are joyful.
Carolyn is an enthusiastic lover of animals both big and small. A pet mom of everything from turtles and fish to cats and dogs, she has a soft spot in her heart for all kinds of companion animals. Additionally, she has spent a couple of summers taking care of farm animals including one summer at Farm Sanctuary, which houses and rehabilitates abused animals.
In her ten years in the Washington Metro area, Carolyn has been a companion to 5 loving cats (Gary, Emily, Lotus, Boots, Simon, and Shenanigans) and two amazing dogs (a daniff, Morty, and a terrier, Poochie) as well as a walker for all types of four-legged friends.
When she is not enjoying animals, Carolyn can be spotted DJing locally under the name of DJ Chairman Meow.
Hello! I am one of those rare native Northern Virginians who lived most of my childhood in South Arlington. I grew up with "hundreds of cats, thousands of cats" and while I do adore them, I completely love dogs as well! As an adult, and midway through raising six children, my husband and I adopted our first rescue pup from WARL. Our "Buddy" was the heart of the home.
We currently have two rescues, Cissy and Yuuki (one a Shiba mix, the other a beagle mix). Our pets love us unconditionally and enrich our lives beyond measure. When I am caring for your four footed friend, I will give him or her the same love and attention that I would wish for my own pets.
Hi, I’m Dan. I grew up in the DC/MD/VA area. My life with the furry friends began when I was 5yrs old with a beagle named Nikki. I’ve had dogs through the years and eventually came to be a foster with a local animal rescue. I have experience with cats and dogs of all sizes and age. From newborn puppies to a fully grown Mastiff. I’ve always had a special love for our furry friends and enjoy meeting new ones to learn more about them. I am currently pursuing a certification as a Professional Dog Trainer and have taken advantage of my position here with Fetch to practice the trade.
Hi I'm Diana my love for animals began at a very early age. Some of my child hood pets were horses, cows, pigs, chicken, birds ect. I currently have a German Shepard/Lab named Wiz. I love taking care of Wiz and making sure that he's the happiest dog in the world. I couldn't imagine not having him since he brings so much happiness to my life . I moved to the area from Miami at the of the the Summer 2016 in order to be closer to my family. I decided to work with Fetch! Pet Care because I get true joy from seeing animals happy. I give each pet a piece of my heart and I take care of them like my own. As a pet lover, I understand the difficulties of finding someone who will care for your pets and respect your home. My clients can rest assured that they will be provided with the highest degree of professionalism and heartfelt pet care for their four-legged family members. I can't wait to met you and your pets! :)
I grew up with a Chow mix named Chachi who protected me against my older brothers. My second dog was an Akita named Willow who would bring us dinner out of our yard. While this was a sweet gesture, I've never developed the taste for moles. My current dog is a sweetheart Saint Bernard. His name was originally Hieronymus which is a pretty terrible name for a dog. His foster family called him Hero, and he obviously had never done anything heroic in his life. So we named him after a sandwich, Gyro.
I love medium and large breeds. The dumber the better. Big sweet loving dogs that are open to suggestion. More specifically chows, labs, mastiffs, swedish mountain dogs, great danes, saint bernards, irish wolf hounds, and akitas.
My guess is since you have a pet, you know exactly why someone would want to spend their days with animals, they're great! Plus, I'm allergic to offices and like to be on my feet all day. My clients pets are my best friends. I develop relationships with the pets I take care of and treat them like my own. I do this job because I love it.
Hi, I’m Heather. I’ve lived in Virginia my entire life. I grew up in a small town in southwest Virginia full of cows & goats, but moved to NOVA six years ago. I have been an animal lover my whole life. I was always the kid who could walk right up to the shyest of creatures and quickly gain their trust easily. One of my favorite experiences from 4-H Camp was learning about & riding/interacting with horses. I grew up with cats, birds, & hermit crabs as pets. As an adult I have also had the pleasure of owning rabbits, fish, and dogs. Currently I have a Yorkieton named Molly who is my world. She makes me laugh every day & keeps me smiling, even if I’m down. I have always bonded with friends and family as pets. I enjoy being go to person they or coworkers all reach to when they need a pet sitter. I’m the one who will smile at your dog or stop to talk to it as we pass on the street, LOL. I like working with Fetch for the scheduling freedom, getting to be outdoors, & meet all the fun pets with their own unique personalities.
Hello! I moved from New York to Virginia about 12 years ago and I absolutely love it here - can't imagine being anywhere else!
I've been around cats, dogs and other types of household animals all my life. I currently live with four cats, whose names are India, Bella, Izzy, and Hide. I also live with a 2 year old beagle who's name is Leo and I love him very very much. Other than loving beagles, I also love Bernese Mountain Dogs, Shiba Inu's, German Shepards, Labs, Pitbulls and plenty more. Being around animals is my passion. I love being around dogs and cats all day, and I love getting to know the different personalities that they all have.
Visiting with your pets puts a smile on my face each time I see them and surely makes my day! I am certified in Pet CPR and First - aid, I'm familiar with a lot of different breeds and I've worked with tons of dogs over the years! In addition to working with Fetch! I also have another part-time job at a local Doggy Daycare where I'm often in charge of more than 30 dogs all at once. I also have some dog training experience which really comes in handy at the doggy daycare and whenever I meet new pets.
Growing up, pets have always been a part of my life. My first best friend was Charlotte the St. Bernard and Marley the Shih-Tzu has been my partner in crime since my 16th birthday! While I’ve mostly had smaller dogs in my household, I have a soft spot for the larger breeds. Dobermans and Rottweilers are my favorite!
I’ve lived in VA for most of life, growing up in Woodbridge and now in Old Town Alexandria. I’ve lived in and travelled to many places around the country and world but I always seem to come back to NOVA. I live an active lifestyle, teaching yoga and spending much of my time learning how to help and coach others to stay happy and healthy. I enjoy working with pets during the day because it gets me outside and active while providing clients with reliable support and service to make sure their furry loved ones live their best happy and healthy lifestyles as well. There’s no such thing as too much love for our cats and dogs!
I love all Labs, in fact I think Lab mixes make some of the best pets. Since working for Fetch! of Alexandria I have become increasingly enamored by the so called "bully" breeds. I have walked and cared for some beautiful Boxers, Pit mixes, Rottweilers and Staffordshire Terriers. I am also especially fond of black cats although the two I currently have are gray (and naughty). Growing up I had a cat. In fact I have had many. In addition to cats I have owned exactly one perfect black lab mix and a green iguana.
Working with pets is like being the favorite Aunt. I get to enjoy all of the positive aspects of pet ownership with my client's pets. When I'm with those pets they get 100% of my attention because I don't have any of the distractions that I would have in my own home with my own pets. I am there to walk, play, and shower them with love and attention. I also love the exercise. Did you know I walk 10,000 - 15,000 steps a day walking dogs?
Hi! My name is Katy and I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. My dad very kindly (much to the dismay of my mom) brought home a 6 week old yellow lab, Splash, a few days before I was born. Needless to say he was not well trained but he was my best buddy and let me ride him like a horse. He lived to be 16 years old and our next dog, Maggie, appeared on our front porch about a month before Splash’s death. The vet estimated Maggie to be about 6 months old at the time. She was a large mixed breed dog. I always claimed to be big dog person until I was finally able to get a dog of my own. I could only have a dog 25 pounds or less so I spent a lot of time researching smaller dogs and rescued my new best friend, Sadie. She is currently a 12 year old dachshund mix. She is quite sassy but lots of love to give, especially if apples or cheese are involved. Because of her I am now dachshund obsessed, but still love all breeds.
I like working with Fetch! Pet Care because I get to work with and see animals every day. I love working with animals because they are always happy to see you and remind you to enjoy the little things in life.
My love for animals began at a very early age. Our family has always had dogs since I can remember. Growing up in the Midwest, all of our neighbors had dogs and cats too. After my graduation from The University of Oklahoma in Advertising, I embarked on my current career in the beverage alcohol business. 15 years with Anheuser-Busch, a partner at The Olde Heurich Brewing Company and currently, for the past 20 years, with Constellation Brands. I was fortunate to have Eastman in my life for 17 years; he was a spitz-pom mix who was found in the back room of a convenience store in Eastman GA after being found on the side of the road. Before he could be taken to the shelter, I knew he belonged with me. He went everywhere with me. Since Eastman is no longer with us, my love for pets still resonates with me and Fetch is the perfect way for me to interact with cats, dogs and even rabbits! At one time I wanted to become a veterinarian but I am still devoted to animals.
Since 2006, I have competed in 19 triathlons including one full Ironman distance. I am also an official for the USA Triathlon organization. I also enjoy golfing, traveling and spending time with my amazing fiance, who is a restaurant owner and a CIA trained chef (that is Culinary Institute of America, not the other CIA!).
I love meeting the pets for the first time and getting to know them and their fun personalities. It is important that the owners are comfortable entrusting their pets with me too. It always brings a smile to my face and it gives me a lot of satisfaction to take pictures of the pets during their walks so the owners can see how happy they are during my visits.
Hi my name is Mia and I love all kinds of animals! I had cats growing up, but always wanted a dog. Fortunately, I was surrounded by friends and family who had dogs of all sizes and breeds. Finally, a couple years ago my family got a toy poodle named Bogey (that’s him in the picture), and I have seen how much joy having a dog can bring to families.
When I moved to Arlington to begin my Masters program in Forensic Psychology, I really missed having a dog and being surrounded by animals. Luckily, I found Fetch! Pet Care and was able to get my puppy fix. Being around pets everyday is awesome and works perfectly with my flexible school schedule. I love taking care of your pets and getting to know their unique personalities!
Growing up I had the opportunity to learn many life skills from my family pets. From the several fish (mostly Betta) that we had, I learned the healing powers of sharing your thoughts out-loud even if the one you're talking to isn't listening or has a three second memory. From owning hamsters, I learned creativity from building various obstacle courses for them to run through. From our Cockatiel named Cuddles, I learned the importance of getting the chance to spread your wings (though clipped) and fly outside of your comfort zone from time to time. From our two lazy, smelly, drooling Bloodhounds, Mooshki and Browzer, I learned to appreciate the little things in life, like finding just the right patch of sunlight to take a midday nap in.
After graduation in May 2016, I moved a couple of hours north to Alexandria, VA in pursuit of a graduate degree at George Washington University. My main pursuit in life is to always keep learning. The desire to continue learning is what brought me to Alexandria, and also what motivated me to work for Fetch! Pet Care. I especially enjoy caring for animals because I feel that it helps me grow, and that I can help them grow. I am passionate about learning each pets' quirks and understanding how to work with each one's individual characteristics.
I was raised in a dog pack and have photo albums full of baby-sleeping-atop-dogs to prove it! I was raised with a cocker spaniel and Beagle and now my mom has another spaniel and my father, a beagle. I'm partial to dogs but I connect with cats, birds and ferrets too.
I became a pet sitter because retail had given me a sour outlook on life. After being in this business for three years, I can say that this vocation is the most rewarding one I've ever pursued. I work hard to please my furry clients and bring peace of mind to their owners. My passion for this job shines!
Growing up, pets were no strangers to my home life. With two younger brothers, there were always animals that needed to be rescued and brought home for us to love and pamper. Not sure what our parents truly thought of our house being turned into an animal sanctuary, but they indulged the whims of our open hearts. Currently, I am the adopted step-fur-momma to our Siberian Husky (or rather the boys adopted me into their loyal pack!). Although he is gaining in years, at nine-years-old he is still as spunky and vibrant as when he was a pup! We are still waiting for his teenage moodiness to surpass and his laid back seniority to kick in.
A Nebraska native, I moved to Virginia in August of 2015 for a job opportunity for the hubs. Although the DMV area certainly has more residents than Omaha, this means there are also a lot more pets to enjoy playtime, adventurous walks, and cuddles with! As I work towards my Masters in Social Work, I can’t think of anything more enjoyable than hanging out with your pet during the day, leaving all the strenuous work for classes at night. I enjoy the exercise from walks and play, the MANY charming personalities from each and every one of the fur-kiddos, and the relationships that form from each interaction. Trust formed between us humans, but also the trust your pet is putting in me to take care of them while you are away. This is what makes my job gratifying!
Woof and Meow! My name is Tracey, and I’ve loved and adored pets my entire life.
I grew up with many cats and large breed dogs - labs and boxers. A true “cat lady” at heart, I currently share my home with two orange tabbies, Ace and Blaze. Unfortunately, It isn’t possible for me to have a dog at this time so I like to live vicariously through the canines of others. I get such enjoyment spending time with all animals both big and small. Learning an animal’s personality and being able to form a bond with our four-legged friends is something I treasure. I’ve always prided myself with being able to easily make fur-friends.
Hailing from Southern Maryland, my husband and I moved to Old Town Alexandria to be closer to his employment and to live in a community where we could walk and cycle. We love it! Spending 16 years in education, I wanted to get out of the classroom and experience something new. Working with the “parents” and spending quality time with the “kids” is still my focus, although, the “kids” look a bit different now!
Hi! My name is Traci. Growing up, our house was affectionately known as "the zoo" or the "stray magnet". There were always dogs and cats around. One of my favorite childhood photos is me sitting in my crib with our yellow lab puppy, Ginger.
My husband and I moved to Old Town in 2016, after living overseas for many years. We currently have a British Shorthair cat, Baron of Lords, who we rescued from our vet's office in England. We also have a Dalmation mix rescue dog, Sadie, who we adopted shortly after we moved here. How can you live in Old Town without a dog, right?! :) Our past fur babies were two Alaskan Malamutes and three cats- all rescues!
Soon after adopting our dog, I met Christian, the Fetch! owner, in the dog park. I told him that we had just moved here from overseas and I was trying to sort out getting back into my medical career. He convinced me to work for Fetch! part time, since I love animals so much. Well, the sweet fur balls stole my heart and beat out the operating room, so cuddling critters is now my full time job and I love it!
